Raven Golf Course rules reiterated

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

The Raven Golf Course and the Silverthorne Police Department are reminding the public that the golf course is private property and people sledding, snow riding or snowmobiling anywhere on the course can be cited for trespassing. The Raven, working with the Silverthorne Parks, Open Space, Recreations and Trails Committee, has groomed areas along the perimeter of the golf course for cross-country skiing, skate skiing and some snowshoeing. All other areas are off-limits.”These areas have been groomed and the packed snow protects the turf below it. The rest of the course does not have that protection and can be damaged easily by sports equipment such as sleds, skis and snowmobiles,” said Officer Anne McNelly of the Silverthorne Police Department. The open areas area also easily accessible to emergency personnel should there be any type of accident or injury, McNelly said. The hilly areas of the course are closed for winter activity, despite recent unauthorized use, and those who trespass onto ungroomed areas may be ticketed.
