Ready, aim, clean: Volunteers are called to help tidy up the public firing range

SUMMIT COUNTY ” It’s time for guns and dust mops to come together. On Sunday, Summit High School graduate Spencer Thomas will lead a team of officials and volunteers to clean the Summit County public firing range.

To accommodate the effort, the range will close between 2 and 5 p.m. The public firing range, located off of Landfill Road, has been open to the public for many years and is maintained by volunteers. Community members are asked to assist with removing the trash and collecting the brass shell casings

Additional teams from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), and Summit County Road and Bridge will be helping Thomas and the volunteers.

Food and drinks will be provided.
