Real Estate At A Glance: Condominium sales through April

Chuck Leathers
Special to the Daily

Sales of condominiums continue to beat last year to date with 17.5 percent more resale units through April. Prices are stabilizing and are even with last year to date.

With the best months for condominium sales still ahead, this will probably be a year of solid recovery. When the dust settles, prices will be near where the average appreciation for the past ten years would have brought them, absent the three-year bubble.

Inventory continues low with under 1,900 offered. This week last year there were nearly 2,600 for sale.

$321,800… average condominium sale price to date 2011.

$340,500… average 2011 price projected from the average appreciation rate since 2001.
