Real Estate At A Glance: Single-family home sales

Chuck Leathers
Special to the Daily

Average prices for single-family homes continue within 1 percent of last year’s total. The number of sales is still solidly in line with the 10-year average. The mortgage market for homes is much more borrower friendly and the sales numbers reflect that. Land and condominiums are still weak in average price and number of sales. This is the best evidence that reasonable lending standards would return our market to health.

The number of listed properties continues a slow decline from the peak of about 2,150 in late July.

94.3 percent… average listed to sold price ratio to date 2012

92.5 percent … average listed to sold price ratio to date 2011
