Real Estate At A Glance: Single-family home sales through August

Home sales are holding steady at 20 percent above last year’s number, but average price has fallen by 5.6 percent year-to-date. The average single-family home is selling for about the same as in early 2007. This is the best time of year for sales and there is a good chance of beating last year in number sold, but probably not in price.

The Summit County inventory has declined somewhat to just under 2,300 total properties for sale.

307 … single-family homes sold in 2010

297 … single-family homes sold in 2009, the lowest number in 10 years

205 … homes sold through August 2011
