Real Estate At A Glance: Summit single-family home sales

Chuck Leathers
Special to the Daily

A whole lot fewer single-family homes sold for a whole lot more in January. Average price jumped by 33 percent while the number sold dropped by 33 percent from the previous January. The large decline in sales can be partially blamed on the far-fewer number of homes for sale in the past couple of months. Single-family homes continue to lead the market recovery.

The total number of properties for sale has climbed back above 1,500 this week for the first time in more than two months.

$883,700 … average single-family home price to date in 2013

$992,500 … average single-family price in 2009, the record year for Summit home prices
