Real Estate At A Glance: Total sales through June

The Summit County market continued its slow recovery through the first half of 2011, although June sales figures suffered compared to last June because of two factors. One Ski Hill Place in Breckenridge closed the majority of their very expensive new units in June of 2010 and the first time buyer tax credit drove last minute June ’10 closings. So total sales figures show only 8.8 percent more sales to date this year and a 9.5 percent decline in average price. If we compare only resales for both years, however, 13.8 percent more units have sold and prices increased .9% from last year.

The inventory has risen to about 2,400 for sale as we approach the peak which was 2700 in July of last year.

$486,000… average Summit County sale price for resale properties in the first half of 2011.

$481,900… average Summit County sale price for resale properties in the first half of 2010.
