Real Estate At A Glance: Total Summit County sales in May

Chuck Leathers
Special to the Daily

For the second straight month, the average sale price for Summit County properties is higher than last year’s total. The huge April of 2011 makes it hard to beat last year’s average to date, but it looks like we might have a small overall price rise by the end of the year.

The number of sales is up by 7 percent over last year to date and the inventory is not rising as fast as last year at this time. In May alone, 30 percent more properties sold than in May of ’11.

There are just over 1,900 properties on the market this week.

98 … properties sold in May 2011

127… properties sold in May 2012, the most sold in May since 2007
