On Saturday, April 4, Keystone Resort will host the Red Bull Schlittentag, an event in which daredevils propel themselves down a snow-covered hill and over a jump on homemade sleds, vying for the title of Schlittentag champion.

Schlittentag is the German word for “sledding day,” and teams of three — one pilot and two pushers — are invited to register their “sleds” for the event online through the Red Bull website, http://www.redbull.com. Beginning at 2 p.m. at the Mountain House Base Area, the teams will launch their sleds downhill to the finish and will be judged on creativity, fastest time and distance flown.
