Kansas women spent almost 2 days lost in park before rescue

ESTES PARK, Colo. — Two Kansas women were rescued after spending almost two days lost in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The Reporter Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1CZcMpb) Danielle Hohly, Christine Everett and three others were hiking Tuesday in the northern part of the park near Mirror Lake. The two women got lost as the group made its descent.

Their friends doubled back, but couldn’t find them. They called Larimer County Search and Rescue Tuesday night, and workers found them early Thursday about five miles from the park’s northwest boundary.

A helicopter flew them to meet up with family on the east side of the park.

Neither woman was injured.
