More heavy snow, wind for Colorado mountains

DENVER — More heavy snow is forecast across Colorado’s mountains, where several feet of snow have already fallen in the last week.

Winter storm warnings are in effect from Rocky Mountain National Park to the state’s southwestern corner through Tuesday.

Coal Bank Pass received 2.5 feet of snow over the weekend while 5 feet of snow have been reported at Wolf Creek Pass in the last week.

The National Weather Service says winds could gust up to 55 mph on Wolf Creek Pass and in the eastern San Juan Mountains, causing large drifts of snow and making travel very hazardous.

Snow isn’t expected to move into the Denver area until Tuesday morning.
