Renner: Summit Education Foundation debuts tonight

Chris RennerBreckenridge

We want to share with you something very exciting that’s happening in our community right now in response to the current funding crisis that our schools are facing. A number of concerned parents joined together several weeks ago to form the Summit Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds to support our public schools. The buzz about this countywide grassroots effort is rapidly spreading, and we are organizing at an equally rapid pace! Our initial fundraising goal is $1,200,000. This both represents 1& of the median income of families enrolled in Summit Schools as well as $400 per student, which is about the figure the school district had to cut from its budget this year. We are holding a public launch at Summit Middle School tonight, May 20th at 6:30 p.m. We invite you to attend to hear more about our Mission, our Vision, and how you can join us to help our schools and be part of the solution. Also, be sure to visit our website at http://www.sefcolorado.org.Thanks and we hope to see you there tonight!
