Reorganization meeting slated for Summit County Democrats

The Summit County Democrats have a meeting slated for 6 p.m. on Thursday in Frisco’s Summit County Community and Senior Center for its biennial reorganization.

The voting body of the Summit County Democrats – the precinct and elected officials and the committee’s officers – will elect a slate of party officers for the next two-year term.

House District 56 representative Millie Hamner plans to attend to share legislative updates.

Lucinda Burns is to step down as co-chair along with secretary Karin Mitchell and treasurer Kevin Burns.

The nomination slate currently includes Julie Charneskie and Jennifer Cassell as co-chairs, Shirley Willis as first vice chair and Rob Murphy as second vice chair. Nominations have yet to be received for secretary or treasurer.

Nominations for all positions are still open and will remain open from the floor on the evening of the meeting.
