Resorts open more terrain

KEYSTONE – Keystone Resort, Breckenridge Ski Resort and Copper Mountain are opening more terrain this weekend after cold temperatures propelled the efforts of snowmaking crews.Keystone will be opening The Outback, plus hiking terrain in Bergman Bowl. Copper Mountain will open the Storm King lift for the first time this season today, the resort announced on Thursday. The resort’s mountain top poma lift – which tops out at more than 12,300 feet – will be open today and Sunday only. It will service black diamond terrain on Hallelujah Ridge. The resort will be opening more terrain under the Super Bee lift. Andy’s Encore will open from top to bottom, and portions of Oh No and Collage will also open. The tubing hill opens today.Breckenridge Ski Resort will open Peak 10 terrain and the Falcon SuperChair this weekend. The new trails on Peak 10 will bring the resort’s total terrain available to 435 acres and will only be open on Saturday and Sunday. Peak 10 is scheduled to open for the season on Dec. 17.Keystone will also begin night skiing earlier than the scheduled Dec. 17 date. Due to overwhelming demand created by the 36-hour event and Thanksgiving weekend, Keystone’s offering special night skiing sessions Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until 8 p.m. on Dec. 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12.- Daily News staff report
