Ric Pocius: Facts on Medicare

Ric Pocius

In his letter, Mr. Gansmann states: “I deal in facts, not fiction. Facts tell me the highest MAGI people pay 283 percent more than the lowest people. Mr. President, how much more should they pay?”

I don’t know how the 283 percent number was derived. However, I do know that the highest paying group pays 2.285 times more that the lowest paying group, but the higher group is making 2.517 times more than the lower group. So to answer the question Mr. Gansmann poses, it looks like the higher group should pony up a little more to make it fair.

Just trying to get the facts straight.
