Richard McNulty: St. Obama?

Richard McNulty JDFrisco

Re. by Donald Chisholm, letters, Aug. 17

Dr. Chisholm description of Saint Anthony of Padua, a Franciscan priest, as caring for the sick and the poor of many races and conditions, sound a lot like President Obama. Isn’t that the purpose of Obamacare – to care for the sick who cannot afford expensive health care?I think St. Anthony would have been totally in favor of Obamacare, and maybe he had some influence in its passage.Dr. Chisholm has singled out one aspect of the law to label it a “bad” law.All of the GOP congressional opponents of Obamacare said we can do better, but for a half-century they have done nothing. Maybe a bad health care law is better than nothing, especially to the sick who are poor.Every community in America has a legal aid society staffed by voluntary lawyers to proved legal assistance to the poor. I challenge Dr. Chisholm to start a medical aid society for the poor, and we could do with out Obamacare.
