Richard Weber: I-70 solution: More buses

Richard Weber

Regarding the I-70 debate: Some want I-70 widened by raising the state gasoline tax. Cost: about $20 billion. Some want a Disneyland monorail. Cost: about $40 billion. Some want to restrict trucks to one lane. Cost: increased prices for goods and services stuck in hour longer jams.

Consider this: A demonstration project using existing regional buses loaded with High Country skiers from DIA to Summit County – the cost shared by CDOT, resorts and local governments. After a few winter weekends, we can observe the results.
