Summit Daily/Brad OdekirkKyle Oddson, Photography and Writing

Kyle Oddson has been a photographer for about eight years, since he attended Summit High School. After one year at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he moved to Paris in 2002 to attend a technical photography school, where he specialized in fashion photography. For the past year, he has been working on a book of memoirs about his time in France. The book, “Wish You Were Here,” is his first and comes out this month. The official release and signing will be at The Blue River Bistro in Breckenridge from 10 p.m. to close Tuesday. He’s working on his second book, and people can see his photography at http://www.kyleoddson.com.

I’d like to be the best at what I do and to make a living off of fashion photography, and hopefully to one day be personally satisfied with what I produce.

I do art because I have no choice. I did not choose to be an artist, but this is the way I am and if I do not wish to go irrevocably insane, then I have to create, to produce.

I do not try to convey anything my art is what it is. What comes through in my art is me every photograph I have ever taken or can take is a self-portrait.

I battled insanity for a while it comes and goes. I Just ride it out and enjoy the pretty colors.

Im still here, and every so often I take a decent photo.

Ive barely yet made a dent in exploring the world within my own mind; every new thought is an expansion to the world. I just keep looking.

Im working toward a career as a professional delivery driver. Im currently employed by Gourmet Cabby in Breck, but I hope one day to break into parcel delivery.

Keep your eyes open.
