Beverly Voss, an interior designer, can. “Realizing how many people in this world cannot say that about what they do makes me feel very fortunate,” Voss said. She draws from her 15 years of travel experience as a flight attendant for Pan American Airlines, in which she studied different cultures and their architecture. “I never realized just how much of an education travel could be, but I quickly learned it provided me a basis for communication that few other professions could,” she said. “Being able to comfortably communicate with others is the cornerstone of the profession of interior design since you can not fulfill a client’s dream unless you are able to determine what it is.”She celebrates the grand opening of her new design studio, Design One Interiors at 1655 Airport Road, Suite 5 in Breckenridge, today.Dreams

Having recently invested in our property and converting it from a warehouse into a design studio, I would like to see our business grow and prosper. Working in Summit and the neighboring counties allows me the luxury of both designing interiors from the very beginnings of the construction process as well as the joy of renovating dated properties and making them more functional and more contemporary while increasing their market value. Why do art? The profession has given me great satisfaction as I witness, with my clients, the progression of the design process and the ultimate creation of our original vision. Success in my profession allows me the opportunity to give something back to the community. ChallengeLearning what it is that my client wants to achieve. To do that I have to listen, I have to be intuitive and I have to be able to convey my ideas so that my client can envision the design.

Staying fresh Motivation comes with the joy and personal satisfaction of what I do and the relationships I have been able to enjoy while doing it. A smile on my client’s face is about all I need. When you’re not doing art? I take advantage of all the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. Mostly, I hike with my dog, I ski, and I enjoy the local culture and socializing with my friends. I also enjoy traveling, especially returning periodically to Florida to visit with friends and family.
