Carrie Denkinger’s T-shirts combine art, beaded handwork and philosophy. Not the stupid- or sexy-saying philosophies, but deeper, more inspirational words. Her summer T-shirts offer nine symbolic designs paired with nine thought-provoking sayings. For example, a black T-shirt featuring a horse and adorned with a painted feather, “Share your strength.” Other designs include a lotus, a dragonfly, a sun or a moon.”They are to be shared with others whom you meet and to be a form of self expression,” Denkinger said.Denkinger combined her educational background in clothing design with her graphic arts knowledge to create the wearable works of art. She sells them at farmers’ markets in Dillon and Frisco, as well as Ranch House Gallery.
