FRISCO — Denver couple Sol and Dawn Nudell Richardson are bringing their business, Rising Sun Distillery, to Frisco. The second location of the distillery will be at the previously vacant building space on Summit Boulevard in front of Frisco’s Grand Hotel. The distillery is one of only two certified organic distillers in Colorado.

The owners are working to get construction underway but already have a good idea what the distillery will feature.

“We’re doing a tasting room, and then we’ll have a small kitchen, and we’ll do tapas. So Spanish-style tapas with Colorado ingredients,” Nudell said.

Nudell said she plans to use local ingredients and wants to feature educational opportunities for people to learn about distilling.

“We won’t be distilling anything up there because the space wouldn’t permit it, but we’ll have our full line of spirits,” Nudell said.

She said she is hoping to be open by the end of the year but anticipates it might take longer.
