Ritter stops in Afghanistan before heading back to Colorado

DENVER “Governor Bill Ritter has departed Afghanistan on the last leg of his trip to visit Colorado troops in the Middle East.

He’s expected back in Colorado this weekend.

Ritter and the governors of Rhode Island South Dakota flew to Kuwait and Iraq earlier in the week before going to Afghanistan.

Ritter says they met with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai as well as U.S. troops.

They left Afghanistan early Friday.

The trip was sponsored by the Pentagon and the State Department.
