Road closed to DIA next week

Daily News staff report

A section of Pena Boulevard that leads to Denver International Airport’s Terminal West passenger pick up and drop off locations, will be closed during the following four consecutive evenings next week due to new bridge construction:

Tuesday, June 15, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., Wednesday, June 16 (7 hours)

Wednesday, June 16, midnight to 4 a.m., Thursday June 17 (4 hours)

Thursday, June 17, midnight to 4 a.m., Friday, June 18 (4 hours)

Friday, June 18, midnight to 4 a.m., Saturday, June 19 (4 hours)

Family and friends will be directed to pick up and drop off passengers at Levels 4 or 6 of Terminal East during road closure times.

Arriving passengers not being picked up by family or friends may still access all commercial ground transportation, rental car shuttles and hotel shuttles on Level 5 of Terminal West during these closure times.

Inbound parking during closure times will be directed to the Terminal East garage, Pike’s Peak, Mount Elbert or other offsite parking locations. Arriving customers who have a car parked in either the Terminal West Garage or Economy Lot will still be able to access their vehicle and exit the parking complex.

The new bridge is being installed as part of a “haul route” for construction activities at DIA. The route will allow construction vehicles to access the airport’s south terminal area without impacting public and commercial traffic using Pena Boulevard.
