Rob Neyland: Vote for Dudick

I would like to urge fellow Breckenridge residents to vote for Mike Dudick as one of your choices for Breckenridge Town Council Tuesday.

In a very real sense, Mike represents the vision that almost all of us share who call Breckenridge Home. He came here are a ski bum years ago with virtually nothing in his pocket (like most of us did). He started out working as a bartender (like many of us did). He decided that Breckenridge was where he was going to make his stand (like most of us did).

He started a business on his own, and using his entrepreneurial skills and working with all the local businesses, made it into a success. He went on to join with a couple of other local entrepreneurs and created a hugely successful business that employs 300 people and contributes significantly to our entire local economy.

Along the journey, he married a beautiful wife and has raised his family here-all the way from Carriage House to Summit High School. Making it Real in Breckenridge-isn’t that what the story of our community is about?

I have had the privilege of serving on the Executive Board of the Breckenridge Resort chamber with Mike for the past 4 years. At every step of the way, I have found him to be passionately committed to Breckenridge as a sustainable community, in an increasingly competitive landscape of other destination towns. Mike has an innate grasp of the big picture, but with an unerring eye for the details, and the realities dictated by a balance sheet and budget. I have come to know him as extremely solution-oriented, and he does not shy away from making difficult decisions.

These are all exceedingly important skills and attributes to bring to the table of Breckenridge Town Council as we navigate our community through the rocky waters of the current national economic woes.

This April 6th, we are all blessed with a broad field of motivated, intelligent and compassionate candidates seeking to serve our community on Council. This wellspring of committed talent is a true tribute to the nature of Breckenridge. I urge you to make Mike Dudick one of your selections when you VOTE! Thanks for your consideration.
