Rocknes, Cameron/King win BGC competitions

The Men’s and Ladies Clubs of the Breckenridge Golf Club both competed in a Better Ball of Partners event in the last week of August.Winning the Men’s Club competition with a net team score of 58 was the father/son combination of Sigurd and Steve Rockne. Eric Guth and Mike Charneskie took second with a net 60. Five teams tied for third with net 61s.In the Ladies Club event the winning team was comprised of Michaelle Cameron and Phyllis King (net 52). The pairing of Frances McWilliams and Cathy Boland took second (net 60). The teams of Kathy Warner and Stephanie Farley and Kristin Akkerman and Greta Schoonover tied for third (net 61).The Golf Club conducted its annual Member-Guest event last weekend, playing 27 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. Dennis Clauer and Jack Brewer won the event with a two-day score of 166. Taking second were Tom Gleason and Bill Hogan with a team total of 167. Ken and Gordon Adams took third (168).On Sunday, Sept. 11, the golf club will conduct its final Mixed Team competition of the season with a Triple play event starting at 2 p.m. Teams will play three holes of alternate shot, three holes of scramble and three holes of best ball.
