Rotary Club of Summit County announces Ice Melt winners

The Rotary Club of Summit County announced the winners of its annual Ice Melt contest, where participants guess when a barrel placed on the frozen surface of the Dillon Reservoir will fall through the ice as it melts.

This year, the barrel broke through April 30 at 1:53 p.m. and 46 seconds, and the high temperature that day was 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Colleen Richmond of Summit County had the closest guess to the correct time, winning the $4,000 first-place prize. Tom Fry, also from Summit, placed second and earned $2,000, while Natalie Gresko from New York used an online ticket purchase to come in third and win $1,000.
