Rotary selling rubber balls

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

The Summit County Rotary Club is looking for nonprofit organizations who would like to participate in a new fundraiser, the Omni Red Ball Beach Bash. A set of numbered rubber balls will be rolled down the High Noon run at Arapahoe Basin on May 1. The public can buy chances to win $5,000 in cash prizes if their combination of numbers are the first balls to make it to the bottom of the hill. The Rotary Club will split the proceeds of each ticket sold by any nonprofit group in Summit County who would like to sell chances to the event. The proceeds from the Rotary portion of the ticket sales will benefit the Summit Rotary Foundation projects and scholarships and the Community Care Clinic. To purchase chances to win, look for posters at various local businesses or attend the event on May 1 at Arapahoe Basin. Nonprofit groups interested in more details or obtaining tickets to sell should contact Terry DeDecker at (970) 668-3639 or Massie Pitts (970) 390-4111.
