Roundtable explores local solutions for accessible, affordable health care

SUMMIT COUNTY – An Our Future Summit roundtable discussion about options for accessible and affordable health care in the county will be held Thursday, from 7-9 p.m., at the Summit County Community and Senior Center in Frisco.

According to a press release, Thursday’s session will focus of discussions about a community-based health delivery system that provides quality care to the broadest possible population. Costs will be part of the discussion. This week’s session “will build upon recommendations expressed in the 2008 Summit County Comprehensive Health Strategic Plan and the experience of a recent Summit County Chamber of Commerce health initiative.”

Roundtable representatives include local government officials, medical providers, insurance companies community service organizations, employers and interested community residents.

Our Future Summit founder and president Howard Hallman said that “Thursday’s session will examine ways to create a health system more focused upon community benefit rather than financial considerations.”
