SCBA playhouses on display in parades

FRISCO – The Summit County Builders Association (SCBA) is proud to announce its first annual Playhouse Benefit. SCBA members have graciously donated labor and materials to construct four children’s playhouses. These playhouses will be on display during the Fourth of July parades in Breckenridge, Frisco and Dillon. In addition, one house will be on display at the Breckenridge Farmer’s Market and during The Summit Foundation’s Rubber Duck Race.

Donations are suggested at $2 per ticket and $5 for three tickets for the opportunity to win one of the four houses. The houses will be awarded at the Summit County Builders Association’s annual Parade of Homes, September 6-7, 13-14. Proceeds from the Playhouse Benefit will go to The Summit Foundation.

Super Soakers not cool at Frisco’s parade

FRISCO – Frisco town officials are asking all parade participants and spectators to leave their Super Soakers at home today.

Super Soakers are great fun

They’re the best of all squirt guns.

On Frisco’s Fourth they aren’t so cool

So please obey our one-day rule.

No squirting from the sidelines,

Will keep the soaker squad from giving fines.

Frisco officials aren’t really giving fines, but our parade marshals will kindly ask anyone watching the parade with Super Soakers to empty them during the parade. In turn, the town is also asking parade participants not to soak the crowds – no Super Soakers or hoses on floats.

Please help Frisco have a safe, happy and dry Fourth of July parade.

KSMT music simulcast with Breck’s fireworks

BRECKENRIDGE – A fireworks show presented by Garden State Fireworks and sponsored by the town of Breckenridge will be launched at approximately 9:30 p.m. today. The show will be visible from the center of town. KSMT The Mountain (102.3 and 102.7) will be doing a music simulcast with the fireworks show.
