School district seeks input for principal

FRISCO – Summit School District will hold a community meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. at Summit High School to find out what the community desires in a new high school principal. Summit High School Principal Frank Mencin is retiring at the end of this school year in June. District officials are meeting with teachers, staff, parents, administrators and community members to gain input on leadership needs and expectations.”The Board of Education and I feel that the hiring of a new high school principal is one of the most important tasks we have in front of us at this time,” Superintendent Millie Hamner said. “Input we’ve gathered so far shows that our community would like to see someone who is committed to staying in this position for the long haul.”The closing date for applications is Jan. 4. Interviews will be conducted the week of Jan. 17, and a recommendation will be made to the Board of Education at the Feb. 9 meeting.
