Sol Pais, woman “infatuated with Columbine,” found dead of self-inflicted wound near base of Mount Evans
Florida woman, 18, had been considered “armed and extremely dangerous” by FBI
Sol Pais, the 18-year-old Florida woman who FBI officials said was “infatuated with Columbine” and whose presence in Colorado triggered hundreds of schools to close, was spotted running naked through the woods near the base of Mount Evans shortly before she killed herself Wednesday morning, a source told The Denver Post.
“She is definitely dead. It was a self-inflicted wound,” said the source, who spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to give out information.
Pais shot herself to death, the source said.
The FBI has since said Pais is dead.
“I am confirming that she is dead,” said Dustin Farivar, an FBI spokesman.
“We are grateful for the support the community provided to help locate
Sol Pais,” he said.
Pais had traveled to Colorado on Monday night, made threats and was considered armed and “extremely dangerous,” the FBI said. Officials said she purchased a pump-action shotgun and ammunition shortly after leaving Denver International Airpot.
