Science fair winners announced

The Summit County Christian School Annual Science Fair was held May 16-18 at the school campus in Silverthorne.

Project topics ranged from tarantulas to ballistics, tsunamis to shampoos, trebuchets to fresh fruit. Students completed their research and project displays over a 12-week period while learning aspects of the scientific process, research and documentation skills, and graphic design. All projects were then presented and evaluated in each classroom. Teachers nominated the top three or four projects in each grade level for judging.

First place winners included: Josh Stallings, third grade; Tim Jacobson, fourth grade; Kyle Vanderkooi, fifth grade; Elya Robertson, sixth grade; Stuart Vanderkooi, seventh grade; Elliott Hill, eighth grade.

Second place winners included: Rebecca Keith, third grade; CJ Moll, fourth grade; John Edelmon, fifth grade; Tanner Harless, sixth grade; Ian Quandt, seventh grade; Rachel Burnett and Aaron Anderson, eighth grade.Third place winners included: Tyson Browning, third grade; Dylan Harville, fourth grade; Briana Zvorak, fifth grade; Kelsie Holmberg, sixth grade; Daniel Atkinson and Seth Jacobson, seventh grade.
