The local government television channel, SCTV 10, will now offer its video programming on a new website, http://www.summitnews.com.

The site features an improved design and better navigability at a new Web address, so local residents can access shows like “Focus on Frisco” and “The O’Vargo Factor” on their own schedules.

“While SCTV’s cable Channel 10 continues to be a valuable way for residents to watch our programming, a large portion of people get their news from the Internet,” SCTV director Brad Williamson said. “It just made sense to upgrade our website so everyone could easily access our video content on the Web.

SCTV is a government television partnership that includes Summit County government, Summit School District and the towns of Dillon, Silverthorne, Frisco and Breckenridge. Its programs include town council updates, roundtable discussions, public service announcements, department features and footage of community meetings and special events.

“The information on summitnews.com provides yet another way for people to stay informed on topics being discussed by elected officials and the many departments that serve the citizens of Summit County,” Silverthorne Mayor Dave Koop said.

Summitnews.com includes new and archived episodes of regular video features, including “Dillon Dialogue,” “Breck Buzz,” and “Summit Schools Spotlight.” The website also includes programming from the High Country Conservation Center, including the “Green Show.”
