SDN launches new real estate site on the web

Kim MarquisSummit Daily News

FRISCO The Summit Daily News launched a new real estate site Tuesday to increase the number of featured listings and improve content for readers. The new site,, features hundreds of homes for sale throughout the region, from Summit County to Vail to Aspen. The advertised listings include color photos, a description of the homes for sale and broker contact information.Internet users can click drop-down menus to define a listing search by location and price range. The content is generated by real estate classified advertisements in the Summit Daily News and Summit Homes & Properties, which is the local weekly real estate publication, plus the Vail Daily, Aspen Times and Glenwood Post Independent. The new website also offers news content for both homeowners and homebuyers such as articles about home repair, working with homeowners associations, property values and market trends. Because 70 percent of homebuyers here are second homeowners, (the site) will make it easier for people from the Front Range or out of state to research the market, said real estate advertising consultant Karen Wray, adding that buyers who browse the site will potentially be more educated before arriving in Summit County to work with an agent to purchase a home.Advertisers can post their contact information in the Contact A Broker section or have their website and e-mail address link to featured listings. In addition to local real estate news, the site offers articles of regional and national interest by the Associated Press.
