SDN needs to show more respect

This letter is regarding the front page picture of the May 24 paper. I was shocked and appalled to see the bloody pavement of a tragic accident in our community on the front page of our newspaper. As a high school teacher, I watched on Monday as many of my students were devastated by Mike’s death. I am disgusted by the sensationalist angle that the Summit Daily took toward this tragedy. Mike was someone’s son, friend, and above all else a human being. The Summit Daily should have focused on this instead of going for shock value. I hope that if something tragic happens again to one of our community members the Summit Daily will respect their life and the feelings of their family and friends, rather than exploiting their death.
