Second man arrested in connection with Greeley murder

Rocky Mountain News

GREELEY ” Three days after the murder of west Greeley resident Jeffrey Watson Sr., a second man was arrested late Saturday by Greeley police.

In this case, Justin Brunner, 27, of Greeley was probably not at the scene of Thursday morning’s violent shooting, but he’s accused in helping plan the attack, according to police. Brunner was booked into the Weld County Jail on charges of four counts attempted first-degree murder, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

“We believe he was in the planning stage of the attack,” said Greeley police Sgt. Joe Tymkowych, a spokesman for Greeley police. Brunner was arrested late Saturday after he was taken to the police department for questioning.

Watson, 44, was shot multiple times by a high-powered weapon, possibly an assault rifle, outside his home Thursday morning.
