Send the teens to jail

Barbara Flitcraft

I have just finished reading the article regarding the bonfire 10 of our brilliant Summit County teen-agers built last week.

Who are these people, and why aren’t they spending the rest of the summer in jail? Better yet, send all 10 of them down to the Front Range, put shovels in their hands and put them to work on the Hayman fire.

The sad part of this entire mess is that absolutely nothing will happen to these criminals. After all, they are young and take no responsibility for their actions. What a shame.

So, residents of Summit County, keep your eyes open and your fingers crossed that we all survive the summer of 2002. My hope is that our beer-guzzling, bonfire-happy “young adults” will soon be gone and off to college – or jail.
