Service and safari in Namibia

Have you always wanted to see Africa? Do you love adventure? If so, this trip might be for you. For five days you will be in the African bush living with a family in their traditional kraal. Daytime activities will focus on improving education for the local children. You could teach English or mathematics; you could conduct a vision clinic (training is provided); you could repair a dilapidated classroom; or you could design your own project. Evenings will be spent with your family. The kraals do not have electricity or running water, but you will have safe drinking water.

We will be in the bush Aug. 22-27. A wonderful game area is nearby and affords the opportunity to be with elephants, lions, zebras, etc. roaming wild. The safari to the game area can be either before or after the educational project. Group size is limited to eight people.

If you’re interested, contact Gail Taylor at (970) 468-9401, or come to an introductory meeting Sunday at 3 p.m. at Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Dillon.
