Services held for Frisco man killed in Florida wreck

FRISCO – Services were held Tuesday on the New Jersey shore for longtime resident and local bartender Eric G. Sternberg, who died in a car accident in Delray Beach, Fla., Feb. 8. He was 32.

A memorial will be held in New Jersey in March.

Sternberg was born March 29, 1970, in Tom’s River, N.J. He moved to Summit County 10 years ago to ski and worked at the Moose Jaw and Barkley’s Margarita Grill in Frisco. He enjoyed whitewater rafting, hiking and surfing. Friends say he was a charismatic jokester who loved a good party.

He is survived by his father, Walter, of upstate New Jersey; mother, Caroline, of Tom’s River; brother, Paul, of Hollywood, Fla.; and sister, Karen, of Tom’s River.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to any children’s charity in Sternberg’s name.
