Special to the Daily

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Father Dyer United Methodist Church in Breckenridge for Christopher Michael Ferris of Breckenridge, who died Sunday at Summit Medical Center in Frisco at the age of 36.

He was born Nov. 29, 1968, in San Jose, Calif. He graduated from Gunn High School in Palo Alto, Calif., and attended college for two years. Ferris moved to Breckenridge in 1989, opening the Big Hit Snowboard Shop. Friends say he was an avid snowboarder and loved running his store. He was a fan of Star Wars, and nothing was more important to him than his family.

He is survived by his wife, Larkin, and daughter, Quaylyn Rose, both of Breckenridge; mother Carol Ferris of Santa Cruz, Calif.; father James Ferris and step-mother Prudence Delamater of Palo Alto; sister Holly Hendrickson and brother-in-law Greg Davis and their soon-to-be-born daughter of Santa Clara, Calif; parents-in-law Robert and Paulette Inman of Charlotte, N.C.; sister-in-law Lee Farabaugh and husband David of Atlanta, Ga.; aunt Gail Thompson of Toronto, Canada; and great aunt and uncle Don and Rachel Ferris of Pueblo.

A reception will be held at the church following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chris Ferris Memorial Fund, c/o Rocky Mountain Funeral Home, P.O. Box 5170, Breckenridge, CO. 80424.
