Services set for Edwin Margheim

Services for Edwin E. Margheim, a former Breckenridge resident, are set for 11 a.m. today in Lawrence, Kan.

Margheim was born Jan. 28, 1939, to parents Theresa and Edwin Margheim of Wakeeney, Kan. He died Dec. 6 at his home in Lawrence at the age of 64.

He graduated from Trego Community High School in 1957 and from Fort Hays State University in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1962-68. He was a private investigator for 35 years for Equifax and ChoicePoint before he retired in 1997.

He married Shara S. Bomgardner Aug. 28, 1960, in Hays, Kan. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence.

The couple lived in Breckenridge before moving to Baldwin, Kan., then Lawrence, in 1989.

Margheim is survived by his wife; mother, Theresa Jefferies; sons Jeffrey Margheim of Dallas, Tex., Lance Margheim of Euless, Tex.; Bart Margheim of Duxbury, Mass.; sister Shirley Kelm of Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren and one nephew.

Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Wakeeney, Kansas.

Memorial contributions can be sent to Hospice Care of Douglas County, Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence or the Zion Lutheran Church in Wakeeney.
