Services to be held for Jerry Kingsley on Thursday

Long time Summit County resident, Jerry C. Kingsley, lost his 11 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. Jerry lived in Breckenridge for 35 years before moving to Buena Vista a year ago where he resided until his death. Jerry was well known for his red and white 1957 Chevy, which he regularly drove in the Breckenridge Fourth of July parade. In the summer he was often seen flying his hot air balloon, Diamond Drifter, over Breckenridge and Como. He also flew Diamond Drifter in the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta almost every year since 1985. His wife Sandra Kingsley preceded him in death from cancer in 1999. He is survived by his sons, Jeffery James Kingsley and Andrew Lee Kingsley, and his brother James Kingsley.There will be a grave-side service at 1 p.m. at the Valley Brook Cemetery in Breckenridge, followed by a reception celebrating his life at Fatties Restaurant on Ridge Street in Breckenridge. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the American Cancer Society.
