SHA thanks CARHOF for grant

Daily News staff report

The Summit Housing Authority (SHA) would like to thank the Colorado Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Fund (CARHOF) and the Summit Association of Realtors (SAR) for their $2,500 grant to support our downpayment assistance program. The program helps local families who are at or below 100% of the area median income. Buyers can borrow up to $5,000 at a 3 percent interest rate with a balloon payment in five years for property located in Summit County. The buyer must occupy the unit and work in Summit County 30 or more hours per week. Since 1997, SHA has made 47 loans through this program. CARHOF and SAR have contributed over $80,000 of this assistance. SHA has been very fortunate to receive the continued support of local realtors working with us to achieve the goal of helping locals continue to live and work in Summit County.
