Shame on Breckenridge for its ad campaign

In response to the latest wave of target marketing and advertising to a niche market that Vail Resorts has tried to attract, I say shame on you!

I think a little bit of creativity in advertising could have hit this “niche” market without the possibility of offending quite a few people out there, whether they live here or visit this wonderful town.

I have lived here for 14 years, and thought I had seen it all until this campaign went out. Did you actually think this would not create controversy? Come on, Vail Resorts.



I don’t think it takes quantum physics to have seen that this was a rather bad venture into an advertising campaign that does nothing but offend and open a can of worms.

I personally find it offensive and derogatory to refer to my home as “our bitch.”



I understand this derogatory term has many meanings to different age groups. But overall, I think to most people it is offensive. I must admit that I chuckle a bit at this ad campaign. Maybe I just don’t “get it.” But then again, it was not targeted at me.

Is Vail Resorts suggesting I change my address to:

Bill Lemley, PO Box , “The Bitch,” CO 80424?
