Sheriff’s cars win award

SUMMIT COUNTY – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office won second place in a vehicle design contest.

The contest, sponsored by Law and Order magazine, compared designs and decals of police vehicles from around the country. The Summit County Sheriff’s vehicles combine statewide standard markings with a reflective material called Reflexite Daybrite and include an American flag on the front bumper.

“This design is unique and had a good use of marking,” a judge wrote. “The design flows well with the vehicle shape and is easily recognizable.”

The vehicle design and contest results were featured in the July issue of the magazine.
