Sheriff’s Office accompanies students to camp

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to once again accompany six local students from the Summit County middle and high schools to the Larimer River Valley Rendezvous Youth Camp (LRVR) in Poudre Canyon outside of Fort Collins.

Students are selected by School Resource Officers to attend the camp based on several factors including a commitment to a drug and alcohol free lifestyle.

Deputies Rebecca Johnson and Wanda Wilkerson will escort the group from July 14-19 for six fun-filled days of camping, horseback riding, water rafting and hiking.

Tents, tarps, poles and cots are provided by Colorado National Guard Drug Demand Reduction Team.

LRVR has been in operation since 1984 and is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado that is funded solely through donations.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Hudson Chevrolet and Summit Prevention Alliance for their sponsorship of our Summit County students this year.
