Sheriff’s Office arrests man found in center of highway

BRECKENRIDGE – Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 19-year-old man they found standing and waving his arms in the middle of Highway 9 at Broken Lance Lane early Thursday morning.

Officers said the man, later identified as Daniel Jacob Fritz, appeared to be intoxicated, and later learned he was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant for misrepresenting his age to obtain liquor.

At the jail, the man was found to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .319. In Colorado, someone with a BAC of .100 or higher is considered to be legally intoxicated and prohibited from driving.

He was arrested on charges of underage consumption of alcohol and for being intoxicated and standing in the highway.
