FARMER’S KORNER – Summit High School’s 2006 Spring Choir Concert Thursday evening at the SHS auditorium featured a solid program of songs and performance numbers, spiced with solos and a video from the Summit Singers 2006 European Tour.

The young voices that put the muse into the air were directed by Cathie Hill and accompanied by virtuoso Caroline Foley on the piano.

The show began with the SHS Concert Choir singing “Home on that Rock” featuring a solo by Jeremy Lefevre, “Somewhere Out There” and “Stand by Me.”

The Peak Performers put choreography to “Wind of the Western Sea,” “La Luvia (The Rain)” and “For the Beauty of the Earth.” The Summit Singers followed with “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square,” “The Sow Took the Measles” and “Sleep.” Julie Black and Garrett Headman displayed creativity and some impressive editing skill with their work on the 2006 European Tour video. And finally, the Peak Performers and the Summit Singers combined for “Away From the Roll of the Sea,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water” featuring solos by Julie Black, Garrett Headman, Andrew Vawter-Beaird, Cody Browning and Emily George, and a gorgeous rendition of Joseph M. Martin’s “The Awakening.”
