SHS registration begins today

SUMMIT COUNTY – Though the first day of classes are more than a week away, the deluge of scheduling requests, college applications and students seeking help begins to fall on high school counselors today.

– Summit High School seniors are to register for classes today. Returning students are asked to see counselors between 9 a.m. and noon. Seniors new to the district can get registration help from 1-3 p.m.

– Juniors register Monday – returning students 9 a.m. to noon, new students 1-3 p.m.

– Sophomores are to register Tuesday, returning students 9 a.m. to noon, new students 1-3 p.m.

– Freshman can make schedule adjustments Wednesday, returning students 9 a.m. to noon, new students 1-3 p.m.

– Make-up and new student registration also will be open Friday, Aug. 30, 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Students should come prepared for school pictures and student identification pictures.

Registration at Summit Middle School began Thursday for returning students and continues today and Monday. Returning sixth- through eighth-graders can visit counselors from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Monday. New middle school students should make an appointment with counselors by calling (970) 668-5037.

Summit’s six elementary schools are scheduled to open Monday, Aug. 26. Parents with questions should contact the appropriate school office.
