Silverthorne carnival returns

SILVERTHORNE – The carnival is back in town.

Browns Amusements Inc. sets up in the parking lot of the Green Village at the Silverthorne Factory Stores this weekend, returning after a successful debut in the county last summer.

“We don’t see a lot of carnivals up here,” said Silverthorne Factory Stores spokeswoman Jana Rae.

Rae said the response to last year’s event helped gain support for the carnies’ return.

“Everybody seemed to have a really good time,” she said.

The carnival, which will have rides and attractions ranging from the infamous Zipper and fun house to the new Star Trooper, opens its gates from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. today and from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
